Community

Services we offer

Enabling Independence works in the local communities within the London Boroughs of Barking & Dagenham, Havering and Redbridge.

We set up groups for the over 60s, find volunteers to run them with our team and build support networks for older people. We run day trips and holidays for members to take part in as well as a host of activities during the groups including crafts, chair-based exercise, monthly meals, quizzes and bingo.

We also operate our Community Kitchen (Monday-Wednesday, 10.30am-3.30pm) at our Pembroke Gardens branch. Thanks to the generosity of local supermarkets such as Aldi and Morrisons, our partnership with Felix and donations from groups and businesses, we are able to open our food bank to the whole community with no need for a referral.
